CONSCIOUS - SUSTAINABLE STYLE; black shirt and trousers
H&M Conscious collection of sustainable style

To be a real fashionista nowadays means going beyond the surface appearance. It is about being able to make intelligent choices that can ensure a better world for generations to come.

The designers and collections I am featuring today all work under an ethical agenda, either social or environmental.

(Please note, I am not sponsored by the brands mentioned here)

1) H&M Conscious collection

H$M’s Conscious collection showcases that beauty and elegant style can be mindful of protecting the planet and its future. Every piece in the collection is made from sustainable materials, to name one, BIONIC®- a polyester made of plastics recycled from shoreline waste.

Not only for this exclusive line, but across H&M’s entire collection, 20% of the clothes are made from sustainable material. The goal is to reach 100% by 2020.

3) Amour Vert

Did you know fashion is the second most polluting industry in the world? When founder Linda Balti discovered this, she set out to make a change. Thus, Amour Vert was born, with the belief that great fashion and social responsibility can co-exist.

Everything in her collection is made with non-toxic dyes, sustainable fabrics such as, certified organic cotton (free of pesticides, insecticides, herbicides, and genetically modified organisms), recycled polyester, Tencel® and Modal® that are engineered from fast growing and renewable Eucalyptus and Beech trees.

Ethical fashion made with environmental and social consciences can be beautiful, and recycled materials can be made into pieces with enduring style. Now, we have fewer excuses for not choosing responsibly. This is our time to truly look and feel great knowing that we are making a different toward a better future.
